What are some things coaches can do to make teacher reflection a common practice?

When done regularly, teacher reflection can help educators improve their practice, better understand their students, and make more informed decisions about instruction.

However, reflection isn't built into most professional learning or planning cycles. As a result, it can be difficult for coaches to find the time and space to encourage reflection among their teachers.

On this episode, I have a coaching call with ELA coach Monika Puzio. During the show, we chat about how coaches can support teacher reflection, so that it becomes something they include regularly in their teaching cycle.

This episode of The Coaching Podcast includes discussions about video coaching, using student work for reflection, tiering teacher support, and questions for reflection. You’ll learn strategies that you can start implementing right away to help your teachers become more reflective about their practice.
