Super Resource for Language Arts
I've been hunting and hunting for some great resources for my teachers, especially for expository and narrative writing. In my google frenzy, I happened on this site:
Austin Independent School District: Language Arts Instructional Resources
This site is like Comic-Con for teachers. You don't know where to start. I found some great tools, strategies, and texts for the writing resources I was looking for, as well as a ton of reading strategies and different genre units.
I'm really impressed now by AISD. They must have people specifically devoted to curriculum writing, compiling great resources and strategies, and putting together units.
It's like Wal-Mart. You could spend all day smoodging around in there, have no idea what time it is, and leave with tons of stuff. But this stuff will be more useful (and durable) than your cart full of Cheese Doodles and Fun Dips.

Thanks for sharing this site. I am in a similar position as you and am always looking for resources to share with my teachers. There was some great information and found myself, like you, losing track of time while finding amazing resources.

OMG - that's awesome. We are doing lots of planning/changing of ELA curriculum this year, and this site will be a great help.

Thank you for the great link! I'm afraid I'll be on there all day if I start looking and I have a product to finish so I bookmarked it :) Thanks again..
